Precision Acoustic and Versatile Load Design
The VXS8 is built around a custom 2-way driver system, featuring a powerful 203 mm (8-inch) cone woofer and a 25 mm (1-inch) soft dome tweeter. These components are housed within a carefully designed bass-reflex enclosure with optimised tuning to provide a firm, tight low-end response, with a frequency range extending from 51 Hz – 20 kHz ($\text{-10 dB}$). The speaker provides broad and consistent coverage with a 100° H x 100° V nominal dispersion angle.
The loudspeaker handles an impressive 180 W Program power ($\text{360 W}$ Max) and features an integrated multi-tap transformer. This transformer allows seamless integration into standard 8 Ohm low-impedance systems or high-impedance 70 V / 100 V distributed lines. Taps include 60 W, 30 W, and 15 W for 100 V lines, and an additional 7.5 W tap for 70 V lines. It achieves a peak sound pressure level of 117 dB SPL.
Installation Flexibility and Environmental Durability
Designed for safe and easy configuration, the VXS8 comes standard with a versatile wall/ceiling mount bracket that allows the cabinet to be mounted vertically or horizontally, and enables both tilting and turning for precise acoustic aiming. Connectivity is managed via a 4-pin Euroblock connector that includes input and loop-thru terminals for simple, daisy-chained wiring to other speakers.
The cabinet is constructed from durable ABS material with a powder-coated perforated aluminium grille, and is available in black and white colours (VXS8 / VXS8W). The exterior is paintable to match any interior décor. Crucially, the VXS8 carries an IP35 waterproof rating, confirming its suitability for use as an outdoor speaker in covered or exposed environments. A specialized VXS8-VA version is also available, which meets the EN54-24 voice alarm safety standards for emergency broadcast functions.
