The Sonance VXXT8R is an 8-inch architectural in-ceiling speaker from the Visual Experience Extreme (VX Extreme) Series. This speaker thrives in harsh conditions such as steam rooms, saunas, coastal properties, poolsides, and outdoor entertainment areas.
Weatherproofing and Thermal Resilience
The VXXT8R is engineered with an IP66 rating, providing complete dust protection and resistance to high-pressure water jets. It operates across an extreme temperature envelope, withstanding environments up to 90 degrees Celsius. This makes it fully suitable for high-heat spaces like saunas and commercial spa facilities.
To ensure the trimless grille remains secure during pressure washing or high winds, the chassis incorporates the Extreme Post Capture (XPC) retention system. This system uses mechanical locking posts aligned with rare-earth magnets to keep the powder-coated, marine-grade stainless steel grille firmly in place. The entire assembly conforms to military standards for humidity, salt spray, temperature, and UV exposure to prevent corrosion and material degradation over time.
