Samsung T9 2TB Portable USB-C SSD (Black)

The Samsung T9 2TB is a high-speed external NVMe solid-state drive built for demanding content creation, video editing, and heavy file management. Powered by a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface, it delivers transfer speeds up to 2,000 MB/s sequential read and 1,950 MB/s sequential write, allowing a 2GB file to copy in roughly one second when connected to a compatible 20Gbps USB port.

Interface Performance and Thermal Management

To reach its full 2,000 MB/s throughput capability, the T9 relies on a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20 Gbps) connection with UASP support. When connected to standard USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) or Thunderbolt ports—such as those on standard Apple Mac setups—the drive operates in backward-compatibility mode at up to 1,000 MB/s.

To sustain throughput during continuous multi-gigabyte transfers or high-bitrate video offloading, the internal controller incorporates an expanded TurboWrite buffer alongside Samsung Dynamic Thermal Guard. This active thermal control keeps surface temperatures within international safety standards (IEC 62368-1) while preventing thermal throttling during sustained writes.

Structural Design, Security, and Cross-Platform Support

The outer housing features a rubberized curved-line shell with a soft-touch carbon pattern that improves grip and absorbs impact. The solid-state construction contains no moving parts and is tested to withstand drops from heights up to 3 metres.

Data protection is managed via 256-bit AES hardware encryption, configured through the Samsung Magician software suite. The drive is bus-powered over USB-C and includes both a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A cable for universal out-of-the-box compatibility across Windows, macOS, Android, gaming consoles, and cinema cameras.

Understanding Product Warranties

Your product is covered by a manufacturer's warranty.
This means that any warranty claims, service requests, or repairs must be handled directly through the manufacturer.

To ensure your warranty remains valid, it is crucial that you follow the manufacturer's warranty guidelines and instructions.

These guidelines often specify requirements for installation, use, and maintenance. Failure to follow them could void your warranty.

You can find the specific warranty information and contact details for your product in the documentation on the manufacturer's website.

It is always a good idea to register your product with the manufacturer after purchase, as this can simplify the process if you ever need to make a warranty claim.
