Roland VR-1HD AV Streaming Mixer
The Roland VR-1HD is a compact, three-channel high-definition AV streaming mixer designed for live streaming, podcasting, corporate presentations, and content creation. Combining multi-format video switching, studio-quality audio mixing, and plug-and-play USB 3.0 connectivity, it allows a single operator to manage multi-camera broadcasts without needing a production crew.
Multi-Format Video Input and Automated Switching
The VR-1HD features three multi-format HDMI inputs that support video resolutions up to 1080p alongside standard computer display formats such as WUXGA. Built-in frame rate conversion and EDID emulation allow seamless switching between video cameras, action cams, games consoles, and laptops without external scaling hardware.
To assist single-operator streams, the unit incorporates intelligent Auto Switching modes:
Video Follow Audio mode automatically switches camera angles based on who is speaking into connected microphones.
Beat Sync Switching switches video inputs in rhythm with detected musical tempo for dynamic live performances.
Auto Scan mode automatically cycles through input sources at user-defined time intervals.
Scene memory settings allow up to five customizable screen layouts to be stored and recalled instantly, enabling side-by-side splits, picture-in-picture windows, and layered graphic compositions.
Integrated Audio Mixing and Voice FX Engine
Audio capabilities are driven by an internal 24-bit 48 kHz digital mixer featuring two XLR combo microphone inputs with +48V phantom power, a dedicated RCA line input, and audio de-embedded from the three HDMI feeds. Dedicated physical faders and gain knobs provide quick level adjustments for each channel strip.
Integrated Auto Mixing algorithms automatically adjust gain structure across competing mic inputs to maintain balanced overall volume levels and suppress feedback. An internal digital signal processor delivers equalization, compression, gate, delay, reverb, and voice changing effects, allowing talent to transform pitch and character tone in real time. Four dedicated audio player buttons on the top panel can trigger WAV sound effects, stings, or background jingles from a connected USB flash drive.
Plug and Play USB Streaming Architecture
The rear panel features a USB 3.0 Type-B port that outputs uncompressed Full HD 1080p video and stereo audio directly to host computers. Operating under standard UVC (USB Video Class) and UAC (USB Audio Class) drivers, the VR-1HD is recognized by operating systems as a standard webcam, ensuring compatibility with software suites such as OBS Studio, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, YouTube Live, and Twitch.
Local monitoring connections include a Main HDMI output, a dedicated Monitor HDMI output for viewing input sources or multi-view feeds, a Thru HDMI connector, and RCA stereo line outputs.
