DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro Essential Combo: Next-Generation 4K Action Camera

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is a high-performance action camera engineered to set new benchmarks in field recording and dynamic sports cinematography. Built around an advanced Next-Gen 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor and an ultra-efficient 4nm processing chip, this camera delivers true flagship imaging capability with an expansive 13.5 stops of dynamic range. The Essential Combo package provides the foundational production setup, containing the primary camera unit, core battery infrastructure, structural protective frames, and magnetic quick-release mounting solutions needed for rapid, out-of-the-box deployment.

Groundbreaking Image Quality and Low-Light AI

The engineering core of the Action 5 Pro focuses on visual fidelity across extreme lighting changes. The new 1/1.3-inch sensor features a 2.4 micrometre equivalent pixel size, allowing it to capture highly detailed 4K UHD footage at up to 120 frames per second in a flexible 4:3 aspect ratio. For challenging environments, the specialized SuperNight Mode utilizes integrated AI noise reduction algorithms to actively clean up raw footage, preserving highlight boundaries and shadow separation during night shoots or low-light marine applications.

Colour treatment is fully professional, supporting native 10-bit D-Log M and 10-bit HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) recording profiles. This ensures colorists have substantial grading data in post-production. The hardware also comes equipped with 47 GB of high-speed onboard storage, acting as a reliable internal buffer or primary memory layer when working without external media.

Extended Battery Boundaries and Dual OLED Touchscreens

A significant architectural leap in this generation is the battery optimization. The new 1950 mAh Extreme Battery Plus combined with the 4nm chipset allows the camera to achieve a class-leading maximum operating timeframe of 240 minutes on a single charge. The power cell remains stable in extreme sub-zero conditions, sustaining continuous capture for up to 3.6 hours at temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, fast-charging integration restores two hours of active shooting performance from a rapid 15-minute connection.

Monitoring is handled by dual high-brightness OLED touchscreens mounted to the front and rear of the chassis. The displays feature narrower bezels that expand the overall screen-to-body layout by 16 percent, outputting a peak brightness of 1000 nits on the rear canvas to guarantee visibility under direct Australian midday sun. The tempered glass layers are treated with an anti-fingerprint coating that remains completely responsive to touch gestures even when wet.

Stabilization, Tracking, and Ecosystem Interfacing

For heavy high-impact recordings, DJI's internal HorizonSteady algorithm provides 360-degree horizontal tilt correction, completely locking the horizon line even during complete barrel rolls or technical off-road descents. The camera also introduces intelligent Subject Centering and Tracking, which dynamically tracks a target across the frame and adjusts composition in 2.7K or 1080p modes without requiring an external mechanical gimbal.

Audio infrastructure has been upgraded via the integrated DJI OsmoAudio connectivity platform. This allows the camera to connect directly via Bluetooth to up to two standalone DJI Mic 2 or Mic Mini transmitters simultaneously, capturing pristine 48 kHz 16-bit stereo audio straight into the video timeline without the need for an external hot-shoe receiver. The robust outer casing is caseless waterproof down to a depth of 20 metres, and a built-in air and water pressure gauge automatically coordinates with the firmware to start or stop recording when passing through the water surface line.
