FreeSpace IZA 2120-HZ: Intelligent Two-Zone Amplification for High-Impedance Systems

The Bose FreeSpace IZA 2120-HZ integrated zone amplifier is the ideal solution for commercial installations requiring powerful, high-impedance (70V/100V) amplification with true two-zone capability. Delivering 2 channels of 120 W Class-D power, this unit combines amplification and advanced digital signal processing (DSP) into a compact chassis, ensuring premium, reliable performance for background music and paging across retail stores, hospitality venues, and multi-room installations.

True Two-Zone Independence and Superior Audio Quality

The IZA 2120-HZ is engineered for complex commercial environments, offering true two-zone capability where each output is completely independent. Each zone supports dedicated volume and source selection remotes, allowing for different EQ settings, tone controls, and independent paging/auxiliary routing options. This flexibility is essential for environments like restaurants with separate dining and bar areas, or schools managing distinct lecture halls and common areas.

Advanced DSP features ensure pristine audio in every zone: Opti-Voice Paging equalises the vocal frequency range for clear speech intelligibility during announcements, while Dynamic EQ automatically ensures full and balanced music at any volume level. The amplifier also offers Independent Loudspeaker EQ per output, simplifying connection and optimising audio quality for Bose Professional loudspeakers, including FreeSpace 3 systems, FS3 subwoofer, FS2, FS4, and DesignMax DM2.

Robust Power and Flexible Connectivity

This amplifier delivers reliable Class-D power, providing 2 channels rated symmetrically at 120 W per channel into 70V or 100V high-impedance loads. It features a comprehensive array of inputs, including four distinct groups: two unbalanced stereo line inputs (RCA), two balanced line inputs (Euroblock), one balanced mic/line page input (Euroblock), and one unbalanced auxiliary stereo line input via a front-panel 3.5 mm connector for mobile devices.

The system is designed for simple, computer-free configuration via rear-panel DIP switches, allowing installers to easily set up dual remote control capabilities, paging output routing (Zone 1 or Zone 1+2), auxiliary output functions, and the Auto-Standby feature for reduced power consumption when not in use.

Intuitive Control for End-Users

The IZA 2120-HZ is designed to be easily managed by end-users. The simplified front panel provides access to source selection and master volume controls. Critically, it features two independent sets of Treble/Bass tone control knobs, allowing staff to fine-tune the sound profile for each of the two zones separately. The compact unit comes with rack ears for seamless 1RU rack mounting or can be placed discreetly on a surface. Remote muting can also be activated via a contact closure for integration with fire safety or central control systems.
