Blackmagic Design Fairlight Console Channel Fader

The Blackmagic Design Fairlight Console Channel Fader is a modular control surface component engineered for high-density audio mixing and automation tracking within DaVinci Resolve. Operating as a core building block for custom Fairlight chassis builds, it brings physical tactile control to channel strips, buses, submixes, and aux tracks.

Motorised Fader Architecture and Channel Controls

The panel features 12 touch-sensitive, motorised faders built with custom-sculpted caps and precision motors that provide smooth resistance for subtle level automation passes.

High-resolution LED information displays are positioned directly above each fader to render track names, signal levels, pan indicators, and current bus assignments.

Illuminated hardware keys provide instant access to Mute, Solo, Call, and Automation state toggling for each strip.

A dedicated rotary encoder assigned to spatial pan positioning also enables customizable soft-parameter adjustments across each channel strip.

Banking Capacity and System Expansion

Designed for rapid navigation across large multi-track sessions, the unit features dedicated Bank controls on the right side of the strip. These keys allow mixing engineers to step through channel layouts or jump directly to specific track groups, mapping up to 144 individual audio channels or buses across the 12 physical faders. Multiple Channel Fader modules can be installed side-by-side inside larger 2-bay, 3-bay, or 5-bay Fairlight Console chassis to expand physical fader counts.

Hardware Interfacing and Power Specifications

The module interfaces directly with host DaVinci Resolve Studio workstations via high-speed gigabit Ethernet for low-latency fader response and parameter sync. Internal software updates and setup management are handled using the Fairlight setup utility via a USB-C port.
