Belden 5000UP: Commercial 12 AWG Two-Conductor Unshielded Speaker Cable

The Belden 5000UP is a heavy-duty, commercial-grade 12 AWG two-conductor unshielded speaker cable engineered for high-power audio distribution, fixed installations, and long-run speaker lines. Combining fine-stranded bare copper conductors with a flexible black outer jacket, it delivers low signal resistance and high durability for conduit pulls and open equipment rack routing.

High-Strand Bare Copper and Low-Resistance Construction

At the core of the Belden 5000UP are two 12 AWG conductors constructed from high-conductivity bare copper (BC/ETP). Each conductor features a high-flexibility 65 x 30 AWG stranding configuration, ensuring easy cable management through tight bend radii while maintaining structural integrity during heavy pulling operations.

With a low DC resistance of approximately 1.56 Ohms per 1,000 feet, the heavy 12 AWG cross-sectional area minimizes power loss over extended cable runs. This low resistance preserves damping factor and transient punch on high-output low-impedance (4 Ohm and 8 Ohm) speaker lines, while also serving as an efficient conductor path for long-distance distributed 70V and 100V constant-voltage audio systems.

Commercial Flame Ratings and Protective Jacket

The conductors are insulated with color-coded (black and white) polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and encased in a durable, flame-retardant PVC (FRPVC) outer jacket featuring an internal ripcord for clean jacket stripping.

The cable holds UL CL3 and FT4/UL 1685 flame ratings, making it fully compliant with NEC Article 725 for commercial in-wall installations, riser spaces, and general building runs. The "010" suffix in the part designation identifies the outer jacket as standard matte black, blending discreetly into dark venue ceilings, open stage trusses, and AV equipment racks.

Understanding Product Warranties

Your product is covered by a manufacturer's warranty.
This means that any warranty claims, service requests, or repairs must be handled directly through the manufacturer.

To ensure your warranty remains valid, it is crucial that you follow the manufacturer's warranty guidelines and instructions.

These guidelines often specify requirements for installation, use, and maintenance. Failure to follow them could void your warranty.

You can find the specific warranty information and contact details for your product in the documentation on the manufacturer's website.

It is always a good idea to register your product with the manufacturer after purchase, as this can simplify the process if you ever need to make a warranty claim.

If you have any questions about your new equipment or need a recommendation for a professional installer, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here to help you get the most out of your purchase.
