Australian Monitor ES250: Cost-Effective 250W Mixer Amplifier

The Australian Monitor ES250 is the powerful, cost-effective evolution of the essential series of mixer amplifiers, delivering 250 W of output power in a compact 2 RU rack-mountable chassis. Designed to meet the needs of commercial projects requiring versatile audio solutions, the ES250 combines core features like multiple input channels and constant voltage outputs with modern enhancements for reliability and ease of use in installations such as restaurants, retail stores, and small corporate facilities.

Versatile Inputs and Output Modes

The ES250 features four independent input channels, each accepting either an XLR microphone input or a dual RCA line level input, providing flexibility for diverse audio sources. For power distribution, the amplifier offers both 100 V constant voltage output and 4 Ohm low impedance output options, allowing the user to select the required mode for their speaker application. It also provides 12 VDC phantom power on the XLR inputs to support condenser microphones. The unit includes both Line and Record Level Outputs that can be utilised to link additional power amplifiers, expanding the total output channels or power requirements of the system.

Integrated Priority and Emergency Tones

A key feature of the ES250 is its integrated control and safety functions. The unit offers two channels of priority VOX muting, which automatically detects audio on a priority input channel to perform talk-over functions, muting background music inputs seamlessly. Furthermore, the ES250 embeds a tone generator capable of playing five internal tones, including Evac, Alert, Intruder, Bell, and Chime tones, accessible via a rear panel connector. When a tone is playing, Channels 2, 3, and 4 are muted, but Channel 1 remains active to allow for essential microphone messaging over the tone. The amplifier maintains a low Total Harmonic Distortion plus Noise (THD+N) of less than 0.3%.
